WRRT IN 2005

 CROSS COUNTRY

Jenny Crain led the WRRT contingent at the USATF World Cross Country Trials (02/12-13 Portland , OR ) with her 29:03.2 13 th place finish in the women’s 8K. Bethany Brewster placed 21 st in the women’s 4k with a 14:34.5 clocking.

Isaiah Festa ran 12:24.0 to place 21 st in the men’s 4k, despite suffering from a bout of food poisoning. Matt Thull finished 29 th in the men’s 12K in 33:37.5. Corey Stelljes placed 31 st in 33:39.8 and Tim Wilcox finished in 51 st place in 41:03.1.

INDOOR TRACK

Matt Groose set WRRT indoor records in the 800 (02/05 Oshkosh) 1:49.79, Mile Run (02/12 Iowa State Classic) 4:04.28 and the 1500 (02/26 USATF Indoor Championships) 3:47.13 (6 th place).

Josh Slamka ran second to Matt in the 800 at Oshkosh in a 1:50.73 PR. That performance qualified Josh for the USATF Indoor Championships, where he placed 5 th in his qualifying heat.

ROADS

Jenny Crain finished 6 th in the USATF National 15K Championships (03/12 Jacksonville, FL) in a WRRT record 51.26. Matt Thull placed 19 th on the men’s side in 47:21.
